"Within the framework of a working visit to the Republic of Karelia, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Evgeny Zinichev, together with the head of the region, Artur Parfenchikov, flew over the territories affected by wildfires," RIA Novosti reports.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that in Karelia there are 39 foci of natural fires on an area of ​​active combustion of 31.5 hectares.

The total area of ​​fires, including those covered by fire, amounted to 5.99 thousand hectares.

Rescuers managed to localize 14 fires.
