July 20, 2021 "Any move, in this period, can involve a health risk: in many Greek islands, including Corfu, the presence of positive foreigners is significant and is causing slowdowns and difficulties for local health authorities in finding adequate accommodation in the covid- hotel ". The crisis unit of the Farnesina writes this to a company that organized a trip to Greece, with departure on 23 July, of 400 Italian children.

In the letter, the organizers are invited to inform "also the families of the children" of the risks and "possible additional costs" associated with these trips.

"Starting from the first ten days of July, as you will certainly know, there have been cases of compatriots who tested positive for the Covid-19 test all over the world, with consequent isolation, at local facilities, of both positive subjects and contacts of the latter, according to the provisions of local regulations ", writes the crisis unit to the organizers of the trip after having become aware of the initiative from the Italian Embassy in Athens.

"This phenomenon is affecting, in particular, young people who, moving together in large numbers, are inevitably more exposed to the health risk deriving from coexistence and sharing that are the prerequisite for this type of travel". According to the information provided by the Embassy in Athens, for Greek law, "where it is impossible, due to temporary unavailability of the facilities, the transfer of the interested party to a Covid-hotel, the costs of staying in Greece for the period of isolation would be charged to the traveler, as well as those of the test "at the end of the quarantine, underlining that" in this scenario, the intervention margins of the diplomatic network are minimal ".

As recalled on travaraesicuri. It and on the foreign portal. It, given the persistence of the health emergency caused by Covid-19 throughout the world, "all those who intend to go abroad, regardless of the destination and the reasons for the trip, must to consider that any movement, in this period, can involve a health risk ".

It is therefore "essential that all travelers have an adequate insurance policy that covers the risks associated with Covid-19", concludes the crisis unit of the Farnesina in the letter.
