The president of the transition in Mali, after having escaped an assassination attempt with knives, gave indications, on the possible perpetrator (s), the possible sponsors of the act.

When you are a leader, there are always discontented people, people who may at any time want to try things to destabilize

", explained Colonel Goïta.

Investigators are studying several leads

“

Destabilization

”, the word is out, but by whom exactly?

A few hours after his arrest, the very tired assailant still had not spoken.

He obviously took drugs before taking action

," says a source close to the investigation.

Could it be an isolated act?

It's one track, but not the only one.

As for the jihadist track, the investigators are cautious and ask for evidence.

Another possible avenue would be a rivalry with dark forces for the control of power.

In Bamako, at the top of the state, it is said that the investigation will be meticulous, to find out the truth.

But in the meantime, the security of Colonel Assimi Goïta will be reinforced.

Until then he had been traveling in a modest pick-up vehicle and his motorcade had only one motorcyclist and less than ten vehicles.
