According to Le Mond, one of Macron's phones was on the list of Moroccan intelligence agencies to organize surveillance using the Pegasus system.

"The numbers of Macron, as well as Edouard Philippe, who then (in 2019) headed the government, and 14 ministers were included in the list for possible wiretapping by the Moroccan special services," the newspaper writes.

The Elysee Palace noted that "if the facts are confirmed, then they are very serious."

Earlier, the media reported that the Israeli Pegasus program was used by intelligence services and authorities of different countries to collect data from smartphones of individuals.
