According to Haaretz, Bennett called the company's ice cream "anti-Semitic."

“There are a lot of ice cream, but we only have one country,” Bennett said.

The Prime Minister's Office said the decision would have serious legal implications.

In particular, Bennett spoke on the phone with the CEO of Unilever Alan Jopp (Unilever owns Ben & Jerry's).

"Prime Minister Bennett made it clear that he is very serious about Ben & Jerry's decision to boycott Israel, and added that the Unilever subsidiary has taken a clear anti-Israeli step," the Prime Minister's office said.

The leader of the Yamina party, Naftali Bennett, took the oath of office at a meeting of the Knesset (parliament) as Prime Minister of Israel in June 2021.
