Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin wrote to the prefects on Sunday asking them for firmness in the application of the new anti-Covid measures, in particular demanding administrative closures for nightclubs not respecting the control of the health pass.

"You will pay particular attention to compliance with the control of the health pass by establishments requesting them now, and in particular night establishments", writes the minister in this note consulted by AFP.

"The administrative closure of establishments that do not do so, or in a deficient manner, will be pronounced shortly".

In Bordeaux, 35 people tested positive for Covid-19 after attending parties organized on Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Tuesday 13 July in a nightclub in the city, said the Regional Health Agency (ARS) on Sunday. de Nouvelle-Aquitaine in a press release.

The first two cases were reported to the ARS on Thursday, 19 others were reported on Saturday and 14 on Sunday.

These people and their contact cases were asked to observe strict isolation for 10 and 7 days respectively, while "contact tracing" continues to identify the chains of transmission.

The ARS claims to have "asked the establishment to broadcast vigilance messages to invite people who participated in these evenings to be tested and to be vaccinated, if they were not yet".

On social networks and in particular the Facebook page of the establishment in question, participants assured that the organizers had been light on the control of the health pass.

"After 2 am, it does not check anything!" Wrote a user.

An official of the establishment defended himself from any relaxation, assuring the local press that the police had come to ensure that the measures were respected.

In his note, Mr. Darmanin asked the prefects to ensure that the French can have an "adapted vaccine offer" throughout the summer.

They should in particular "increase the amplitudes of daily opening" of the vaccination centers and ensure that they are open "weekends included".

He also calls on them to speed up vaccination for public officials, especially those in contact with the public.

Their employers may be encouraged to "approach vaccination centers to reserve time slots" and vaccination barnums may be installed in administrative cities.

The minister also calls for "strengthening of support and isolation systems" for positive cases and contact cases, including "rehousing offers" for people who cannot isolate themselves at home.

"In tourist departments where the hotel accommodation offer is strongly preempted, you will anticipate the search for alternative solutions", he asks.
