According to Korean media reports, the South Korean Joint Staff Headquarters stated on the 18th that more than 300 crew members of the 34th Echelon of the Navy’s Ching Hai Force destroyer (4,400-ton class), which are performing overseas tasks. Among them, the results of the new coronavirus nucleic acid test for 101 people were released at 8 am that day, and another 61 people were diagnosed with the new coronavirus.

  According to reports, since the first confirmed case in the 34th Echelon of the Qinghai Forces on the 15th, the number of confirmed cases increased to 68 in only three days.

  The South Korean Joint Staff Headquarters stated that the military commissioned the health department where the Ching Hai Force is located to test more than 300 crew members for the new crown virus, and the results of 101 of them were released.

The results showed that 68 people, including the 7 confirmed cases, were positive and 33 were negative.

Given that the test results of as many as 200 people are pending, the number of confirmed cases may increase significantly.

  On the same day, three crew members were hospitalized at the local hospital due to suspected symptoms of pneumonia.

As a result, the number of cases being hospitalized increased to 15 cases, of which 3 people received intensive care due to their serious illness.

  The South Korean government decided to send two air refueling transport aircraft (KC-330) of the Air Force to pick up the officers and soldiers of the Ching Hai unit.

The aircraft is equipped with a task force, composed of 150 colonel-level officers who have completed the vaccination and necessary manpower to operate the ship. They will replace the 34th echelon to take over the destroyer "Munmu Dawang" and sail back to South Korea.
