Three people were injured in a shooting in the center of Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States.

When gunfire was heard even at the Major League Baseball stadium, which was in progress in the immediate vicinity, spectators evacuated and the game was halted.

According to US media such as CNN, local time, a shooting took place outside the National Park in Washington DC last night, during the match between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres.

Police said two vehicles clashed on the street outside National Park during the match, and a female fan was shot and injured.

He added that two people in one of the vehicles involved in the shootout are also being treated at the hospital and are currently being investigated.

However, it is unclear how the two were involved in the incident, and another car is being pursued by police, CNN reported.

Shortly after the incident, police said four people were shot.

CNN reporters who were covering the game at the National Park at the time said that several gunshots rang out during the game at the end of the sixth inning.

When the gunfire rang, the crowd evacuated in confusion.

Police said the shooting took place outside the stadium and there was no threat to spectators inside the stadium.

Immediately after the shooting, a message appeared on the billboard asking the fans to stay inside the stadium, and it was replaced with the phrase that it is okay to leave the stadium after the police have determined it is safe.

Washington Nationals' vice president of public safety and security, Scott Peer, said crowds were moved to shelters in the stadium immediately after the shooting, where they stayed for 10-15 minutes.

Haseong Kim of the away team, the San Diego Padres, participated in this game, and the game was declared a suspended game.
