China records the first human death from the “simian virus”

China announced today (Sunday) the death of a person due to infection with the "Monkey B virus", which is also called the "Monkey B virus", which is the first human death in it.

According to the Chinese newspaper, "Global Times", a 53-year-old veterinarian from Beijing, working in an institution that experiments with research on non-human primates, died at the end of last May, after suffering from some symptoms of the "monkey B" virus.

The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that the deceased doctor dissected two dead monkeys in March of this year, and a month later he showed symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, before researchers collected samples of cerebrospinal fluid and discovered that he was infected with the virus.

The doctor was transferred to more than one hospital for treatment, however, he breathed his last on May 27.

This is the first human death from the monkey B virus, which since its discovery in 1931 has infected only about 50 human cases.

Tests were conducted for all members of the doctor's family to detect whether they had received the infection from him, but all of them were negative.

The virus is a type of hereditary millennial herpes virus found in macaques.

It can be transmitted to humans through direct contact with monkeys or through body secretions.
