July 17, 2021 A moment is everything could change.

This is what happened today on the beach in Riva Ligure, in Imperia.

A 4-year-old girl slips from the rocks for reasons yet to be ascertained.

He squirms in the water.

He risks drowning.

Then it stops.

A group of kids run to the beach for help.

All the people get up to see what happened.

Lifeguard 'hero' Dennis Cusma ', 21 years old on duty in the next plant, runs and jumps, catches her and brings her ashore.

"His little body - says Dennis - was half submerged, face down".

On the beach there is a Turin first aid pediatrician. "We applied the basic cardio-pulmonary resuscitation maneuvers - said the doctor - and we hope that everything went well". A moment that must have seemed very long. A moment made all the difference. The 118 doctors gave her oxygen and then the child was taken by helicopter to the Gaslini in Genoa.
