Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung, a preliminary candidate for the Democratic Party's presidential election, said on a radio station, "There are people who supported the 5/18 massacre and there are people who praised Park Chung-hee."



It is interpreted as a remark aimed at former CEO Lee Nak-yeon, who was accused of writing a column advocating Chun Doo-hwan when he was a reporter.



Governor Lee appeared on MBC radio and said, "Some people attack me for changing their words, but the change in attitude is more of a problem."



When asked if he was talking about the former CEO Lee Nak-yeon, he avoided answering, "It's okay to say who you are."



Regarding the ex-president's pardon, the governor said, "It violates equality before the law and is not right."



“The same goes for Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong,” he said.



Regarding his criminal record, he said, "I apologize for being wrong because there is no excuse for drunk driving.



However, regarding the case of impersonation of a prosecutor, he said, "I am not impersonating myself.
