The year was 1981 when Olle Bolmelind started as a caretaker at one of the Red Cross campgrounds in Skummelövsstrand in Skåne.

He describes the situation as "complete chaos" with young leaders who failed to make time meaningful for the 130 children.

The entire staff had to quit and Olle Bolmelind, who was also completely green, was given the task of directing the business.

"Children are the most important thing"

Since then he has continued and now it has been 40 years.

- I say every year that it is the last thing, but what drives me to continue is the community and that the children are the most important thing, says Olle Bolmelind.

Now he is at this year's summer camp which is held in between at Kinnagården in Varberg.

According to Olle himself, this is the last colloquial summer for him as manager - but he has said that before.

In the clip here, Olle talks about his driving force and why he has stood up for 40 years.
