Britain plans to vaccinate 35 million people for free against influenza

British Health Minister Sajid Javid announced that Britain intends to provide free doses of the flu vaccine to more than 35 million people, including all secondary school students, this winter.

Today, Javid said that the seasonal influenza vaccination programme, which begins in September, will be the largest in the history of the United Kingdom, calling on everyone to get the vaccine.

"Influenza can be a serious disease, and we want to build a wall of protection by immunizing a record number of people," Javid added.

"As people approach normal life, we must learn to live with Covid-19 alongside other viruses," he explained, noting that providing free influenza vaccines to millions of people aims to help protect them in the coming winter.
