The proposal is that the level should go at 100 liters of water per inhabitant and day.

Today, the average resident consumes 140 liters of water per day.

- It should make a difference if you are water-smart and think about how you use water compared to if you consume luxury and fill the pool and water the lawn, says Mattias Hultin, operations manager at LBVA.

The proposal must first be approved by politicians and will not become relevant until 2025 at the earliest because it requires all customers to have a digital water meter.
