Just before 17:30 there was an alarm about drowning at Borrby beach, Simrishamn.
According to the alarm, private individuals must have pulled a man in his 85s out of the water.
- The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, but the injury situation is unclear, says Jimmy Modin, the police's press spokesperson.
A few hours later, shortly after 9 pm, however, it became clear that the man had died.
The police do not suspect any crime in connection with the drowning accident.
