WHO Committee announced the threat of the emergence of more dangerous strains of COVID-19

According to TASS, this was stated by WHO Director General Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus.

“The committee has warned of the high likelihood of the emergence and global spread of new and possibly more dangerous varieties of COVID-19 of concern that are likely to be even more difficult to control,” he said.

Earlier, Gebreyesus said that the delta strain was the main reason for the increase in new cases of COVID-19.
