Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated Al Ashab Lounge, the latest qualitative tourism project in Khor Fakkan, which is located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level.

Upon his arrival, His Highness removed the traditional curtain, marking the official opening, after which he began his tour up to the rest house through the modern road, which was designed and implemented according to the best international standards and requirements, and with a high flow that enables all vehicles to go up and down smoothly.

The length of the road leading to the cloud rest is 6.5 kilometers, and includes two lanes for ascent and one for descent, and the road slopes range between 3% and 9.7%, which provides the best levels of safety for its occupants.

His Highness then inaugurated the cloud lounge building, and was briefed on its facilities and services for visitors, listening to His Highness for a detailed explanation from the Chairman of the Initiatives Implementation Authority (initiative), Engineer Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, about the two-storey building, with a total area of ​​2788 square metres. The ground floor includes a restaurant and a café that can accommodate 88 people in the inner hall, and 48 in the outer balcony. As for the basement, it contains a multi-purpose hall that accommodates 62 people, a prayer hall for men and another for women, toilets, and service and administrative facilities.

His Highness toured the lounge, looking at the indoor and outdoor balconies, which provide views of the wonderful views of the city of Khorfakkan.

The rest area, which was implemented on an area of ​​10,250 square meters, includes a children's play area, and the area surrounding the restroom was decorated with green spaces, where 8,700 trees were planted, and 89 parking spaces were provided.

His Highness concluded his tour by inaugurating the mountain path, which connects between the cloud rest and the Rafisah Dam break. The path provides mountain sports and adventure lovers and sports practitioners with a unique experience among the Khorfakkan mountains.
