A scene was captured of a luxury hotel in China cleaning a table using a broom and dustpan, once again sparking controversy over hygiene in a Chinese hotel.
Hotel staff are naturally cleaning tables covered with white tablecloths with a broom.
The leftover food on the table is swept into the dustpan, and when the dustpan is full, it is emptied into a box next to it to continue cleaning.
It happened in a hotel in Jiangsu Province, China, and it is said that the hotel was designed as a five-star hotel with an investment of 62.2 billion won.
When the video was released on the Internet and became controversial, the hotel explained that the broom used by the staff was a special cleaning tool for the table that was not used when sweeping the floor and had a separate mark for the table.
However, netizens criticized it as inappropriate and unsanitary to use a broom to clean the table.
This is not the first time that luxury hotels in China have been accused of hygiene.
In 2018 and 2020, there were cases where a video of cleaning the toilet with a customer towel was released at a 5-star hotel, and the hotel publicly apologized.
