It is not common to see the police intervene in a movie show.

Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, at the Megarama in downtown Saint-Etienne, the police had to enter the room, in full screening of

Fast & Furious 9

.

Several spectators and a security guard were indeed insulted, threatened and attacked by a group of individuals who entered without a ticket (and without a mask), thanks to accomplices who opened the emergency exit to them at the start of the session.

The tone quickly rose because the group in question was very noisy, multiplying the cries and the bursts of laughter, which pushed spectators to ask them for silence.

"A man was strangled"

For a few minutes, a member of security, warned of tensions in the room, tried, in vain, to get people out without a ticket.

Questioned by

Le Progrès

, a witness then recounts how the atmosphere in this busy room turned into chaos: “Several spectators once again tried to convince them to shut up.

" He pursues :

This is where everything got out of hand.

The individuals suddenly stood up and assaulted a spectator.

They knocked him down before beating him.

"

"Spectators came to his aid, before they too were taken to task," continues the person in the cinema.

A man was strangled before being rescued.

They beat and threatened several people with death.

Spectators left the room in panic to take cover.

"

According to this same witness, "the attackers quickly fled by the emergency exit when the police arrived".

According to

Le Progrès

, a 16-year-old individual was arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday evening.

An investigation was opened and the firefighters took care of several injured people.

Not certain that the ticket offered to spectators by the director of the Stéphanois cinema, for the screening of their choice, is not enough to make them digest this wasted evening.
