A new set of regulations with radical changes will come into force next year, which have been delayed since their initial introduction expected in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.   



 Changes include 18-inch wheels replacing the traditional 13-inch rim size, reintroducing ground effect use for the first time since it was banned in the 1980s, and introducing a number of standardized components .
