In detail, the legal advisor and lawyer, Mansour Al-Mazmi, indicated that the death of children from suffocation in buses is evidence that the driver and the supervisor did not follow the safety and prevention measures entrusted to them, pointing out that the supervisor has the responsibility to monitor each person on the bus, and actually make sure that he gets on and off the bus at the center. The traffic expert, Executive Director of the "Saed Society", Jamal Al Ameri, said that the application of traffic safety and prevention standards available in school buses supervised by the Emirates Transport Corporation contributed significantly to reducing the incidence of students and children forgetting on buses, stressing the need to transfer the Corporation's experience regarding Mass transportation to buses of institutions and recreational, educational and development centers, and to keep students and children from being forgotten inside.
He explained that there are institutions that reduce safety and prevention standards in buses while transporting their children, as their buses are not equipped with means to monitor anyone inside the bus, calling for the adoption of buses of institutions that meet safety and prevention standards, especially those transporting students and children, to maintain their safety. And reduce the incidence of loss, forgetfulness or death due to suffocation.
While the family medicine specialist, Dr. Adel Saeed Sajwani, said that forgetting the child in the bus or vehicle for more than 10 minutes is liable to death if he is not rescued in time, as closing the vehicle or bus leads to an increase in the temperature inside it, and with him the child arrives to severe heat exhaustion.
He explained that incidents of forgetting and death of children on buses can be controlled through the application of safety and prevention standards, and the use of smart and electronic applications to monitor the bus from a distance, and to monitor any child inside it after it is closed and the supervisor and driver disembark from it.
Six children have died of suffocation in vehicles since 2013
"Emirates Today" has monitored the death of six children since 2013, as they suffocated in the vehicles of their families and the buses of special educational and development centers. A three-year-old child died in June 2013 in the Azan area in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, after his family forgot him in the car. , for three hours.

In June 2019, a six-year-old boy died, as a result of being left on a bus belonging to a Quran memorization center in the Al Quoz area, after the children got off the bus and closed its doors.
Last March, a four-year-old girl died of suffocation inside her parents' car, in the Uptown area of Dubai, after she stayed inside for more than two hours, without any of the family members noticing her absence.
And last June, an eight-year-old child died of suffocation in a vehicle that was parked next to his house in the Emirate of Sharjah. The Emirate of Ajman recorded the latest incident, last Monday, when a child died of suffocation inside a bus belonging to a talent development center, after leaving him asleep, without attention for four hours.
