Hesse lags behind the federal average in terms of the rate of people vaccinated against Corona for the first time, as well as those who have been vaccinated.

In view of this fact and the considerable number of missed appointments in the 28 vaccination centers, there is now a nationwide list of successors.

Spontaneous people can get a vaccination appointment with an mRNA vaccine, from BioNTech or Moderna, within a maximum of four days.

Another special vaccination campaign has started in the festival hall in Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, there is mixed news about the infection process in Hesse.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports a good 40 percent more cases than a week ago.

Compared to June 16, there are almost a quarter more confirmed positive PCR tests.

The central indicator of incidence has risen slightly, and this also applies to Frankfurt.

There are also some deaths related to the pandemic more than seven days ago.

According to the RKI, the Hessian health authorities reported 156 new cases overnight after 110 a week ago. Officially, 291,984 people in Hesse have been infected with a variant of the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. The incidence rose from 9.3 on Tuesday to 9.8 after it was 8.1 seven days ago and before that it had fluctuated at seven on a daily basis. Frankfurt has the highest index in Hesse with 21.4. The best are the Waldeck-Frankenberg (1.9) and Werra-Meißner (2.0) districts.

The RKI reported four new fatalities.

So far, 7561 people have died of or with Covid-19 in Hesse.

According to figures from the Divi Register on Wednesday, there were 55 people with Covid 19 disease in the country's intensive care units, according to dpa.

25 of them were ventilated.

Divi stands for German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine.

A fifth of the appointments expire

Since general practices and company doctors now also carry out the vaccinations, appointments for the first vaccination in the vaccination centers are becoming more and more frequent at short notice. However, the waiting lists that all vaccination centers have already created themselves are apparently no longer sufficient to allocate the appointments that become available promptly. Therefore, the replacement list has now been created in order to bring the available vaccine to use as quickly as possible. Currently, an average of around 20 percent of the vaccination appointments booked are not attended to.

Citizens who have not yet been vaccinated and who are already registered online can get an appointment at short notice.

The Ministry of the Interior wanted to react even faster to ad hoc missed appointments in the Hessian vaccination centers.

Special offer with one-time product

From this Wednesday on, vaccinators in Frankfurt can get an injection against Covid-19 as a precaution.

A second appointment is not planned because the Johnson & Johnson product is on offer again.

This vaccine is only intended for one injection.

This also avoids the risk that people forget their second appointment or simply do not keep them and therefore vaccine has to be thrown away unused.

Unlike the previous promotion, the urban offer is not only valid for a few days.

Rather, it runs through July 31st, as the city points out.

Last week's campaign, which was tailored to the 2600 Frankfurt residents, was very well received.

Interested parties have to register online - the link can be found here.

A similar campaign is being offered in Mainz in cooperation with the local Bundesliga club Mainz 05.

The association's medical fan club, among others, has launched an action on Friday and Saturday in which Johnson & Johnson, but of course BioNTech's “Meenzer Stöffche”, are also on offer.

And in the Main-Kinzig district there is a vaccination bus on certain days.

57.7 percent of the Hessians with the first vaccination

With both vaccination rates, the centrally located federal state is still below the federal average.

Compared to the federal government, Hessen is still lagging a little behind when it comes to vaccination: According to the latest data, 57.7 percent of people in Hessen have received a first vaccination against the corona virus.

Hessen is now 1.0 point below the federal average.

The front runner is Bremen with 67.8 percent of first-time vaccinations - Rhineland-Palatinate comes with 59.6.

Hesse also lags behind the federal mean for the fully vaccinated.

Hessen has 42 percent, Rhineland-Palatinate has 42.3 percent.

the Saarland is ahead here with 47.2 percentage points.

3.63 million people in Hessen are vaccinated at least once, 2.64 million already have complete vaccination protection.

Resident doctors and staff have so far administered more than 2.01 million vaccinations, as the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians announced.

Since the beginning of April, the general practitioners' practices in Hesse have also been vaccinated against Covid-19, a little later the specialist practices and, on June 7th, the company doctors were added.

Meanwhile, the state is trying not to let the vaccination fatigue that is spreading in other countries arise in Hesse.

"Now it is important not to let up: Get vaccinated as soon as you receive a vaccination offer - so that we are also prepared for autumn," is the appeal of the state government.
