This is stated in a message on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. 

“We express our deep condolences to the leadership and people of friendly Iraq.

We pass on words of sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, ”the ministry said.

The Foreign Ministry also wished the victims a speedy recovery.

The report says that an explosion of an oxygen cylinder at Imam Hussein Hospital in Nasiriyah caused a fire that killed 64 people and injured 50.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to his Iraqi counterpart Barham Ahmed Saleh in connection with a major fire in the Nasiriyah hospital.
