According to Putin, he decided to prepare an analytical material about Ukraine a long time ago, noting that "he has been thinking about it for several months."

“Besides, why did I activate this work just now?

Because conditions are emerging that are qualitatively changing in comparison with what was quite recently.

Apparently, active work has begun on the Anti-Russia project, and this, of course, cannot but cause some concern in us, "Putin said.

He also noted that in Ukraine "a lot, millions of people" want to restore relations with Russia.

Putin added that there are political forces in favor of normalization.

At the same time, he added that, apparently, in Ukraine they are not given a chance to realize their political plans and are illegally removed from the political scene.

“Someone is simply killed on the street, and after that no one is looking for criminals.

Or they burn people alive, as was the case during the tragic events in Odessa.

They shut down the national media outlets, put them under house arrest, as is the case with [Viktor] Medvedchuk, ”Putin said.

The Russian leader added that the Ukrainian authorities "make absolutely illegal decisions even outside their competence."

On July 12, the Russian president published an article "On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians," in which, in particular, he stated that Russia has never been and will never be "anti-Ukraine."

He also called the emergence of a “wall” between the two countries in recent years as a common misfortune and tragedy, and spoke about the losses of Ukraine due to the severance of economic ties with Russia.
