Burkina: VDP targeted by deadly attack in village near Pensa

In Burkina Faso, at least 10 people including 7 volunteers for the defense of the fatherland (VDP) were killed Sunday July 11, according to security sources.

Other sources report 7 victims including a woman.

It is a village in the commune of Pensa in the Center-Nord region which was the target of armed men.

Several concessions and the market were also set on fire.

It was the village of Nahi-Mossi, located about ten kilometers from the commune of Pensa, which was targeted by the armed men.

It was in the afternoon around 4 p.m. local time that armed men broke into this village which houses a base of volunteers for the defense of the fatherland (VDP).

 On July 11, armed men attacked the village of Nahi-Mossi sheltering VDPs, 

" said a security source.

This incursion by the armed group claimed the lives of several people.

These are the volunteers for the defense of the homeland, the auxiliaries of the armed forces in the fight against terrorism who were particularly targeted by the attackers according to security sources.

The results of this new attack differ depending on the sources.

Between 7 and 10 civilians, including a woman. 

Several concessions and businesses were set on fire.

Cattle were also blown away according to local sources.

Some residents fled to seek refuge in the municipality of Pensa.
