Among the local infection cases, 402 cases were in Seoul, 322 cases in Gyeonggi Province, and 51 cases in Incheon, most of which occurred in the metropolitan area.
In the non-capital region, there were 43 cases in Busan and Chungnam, 40 in Gyeongnam, 37 in Daegu, 25 in Daejeon, 19 in Jeonnam, 18 in Gangwon, 13 in Gwangju and Chungbuk each, and 12 in Gyeongbuk.
In Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Incheon and other metropolitan areas, the highest level of social distancing measures will be implemented from the 12th to the 25th.
According to the provisions of the measures at this stage, a maximum of 4 people are allowed to have private gatherings before 6 pm, and only 2 people are allowed after 6 pm.
Meetings such as immediate family members and first-year banquets are also restricted objects, and exceptions are allowed for the care activities and end-of-life stages of cohabiting family members or children, the elderly, and the disabled.
In addition, all kinds of events and gatherings are prohibited in the metropolitan area. Weddings and funerals are only allowed to be attended by relatives. The maximum number of people is 49.
Among the public facilities, entertainment bars, nightclubs and other entertainment facilities are prohibited from operating, while other facilities are allowed to operate until 10 pm.
The Korean epidemic prevention department urged the public to minimize gatherings and outings and minimize contact with others.
