Novak Djokovic expressed for the first time, Sunday after his victory at Wimbledon, a hesitation about his participation in the Olympic Games in Tokyo because of the new health restrictions.

"My plans have always been to compete in the Olympics. But now I'm a bit divided. It's 50/50 because of what I've been hearing for two days," he said.

The fact that the Games will ultimately take place mainly behind closed doors in the face of the resurgence of the coronavirus in Japan "is not good news (...) I was very disappointed when I heard about it", commented Djokovic.

"I have also heard that there will be a lot of restrictions in the Olympic Village. We may not be allowed to see other athletes competing. I cannot even have my stringer with me while he is a very important part of my team. And I am limited in the number of people I can take with me in my team ", regretted the world No.1.

"I'll have to think about it," he said a few minutes after winning Wimbledon and thus opening up the road to the Grand Slam and even the Golden Slam a little more, which consists of winning the four major tournaments of tennis and the Olympic gold medal the same year.
