A "
fourth wave linked to the Delta variant could occur quickly,
" warns the Scientific Council.
To avoid it, the Council recommended on Friday July 9 a series of measures, and in particular to make compulsory the vaccination of caregivers, a category where the coverage rate is "
too low
", he believes, in particular in nursing homes. where only “
half
” of the staff is covered.
An obligation that "
could be extended to other categories
", such as "
caregivers
", "
personal services
" and other non-health professionals in contact with the public, suggests the Council.

Towards an obligation of vaccination for all?
Same position, but your more pressing on the side of the High Health Authority who stressed Friday that it is "
without delay
" that the vaccination obligation should be considered for "
all health professionals in contact with vulnerable people
". The HAS goes even further since it deems "
necessary
" to reflect "
as of now
" on "
a greater extension of this vaccination obligation in the general population
", in order, she says "
to be able to take this decision in time if it is
needed. was essential
”.
However, for academies of medicine and pharmacy, this decision is necessary, precisely, already: vaccination "
is not only a civic gesture
" but an "
ethical imperative
" underlined Friday the two institutions, which demand compulsory vaccination for all from the age of 12, "the
only realistic option
", they insist, "
making it possible to preserve one's health, that of others and to achieve collective immunity
".
