England's Luke Shaw, a scorer after just 117 seconds against Italy, scored the fastest goal in a Euro football final on Sunday, according to UEFA data, wiping a record dating back to 1964.

The Manchester United left-back scored with a powerful half volley after just 1:57 a.m. of play on Sunday night in the Italy-England final at Wembley, his very first national goal.

The previous record belonged to the Spaniard Jesus Maria Pereda Shaw who scored after 5 minutes and 17 seconds of play in the Euro-1964 final won by Spain against the Soviet Union (2-1), at Madrid, June 21, 1964.
