The details are due to the submission of three separate reports by three stores in the city of Khorfakkan, complaining about the threat of a municipal employee working as an inspector, saying, “Your goods are counterfeit, I will close the shop or impose heavy fines on you, otherwise they will give me a gift,” forcing them to give him some of their goods, such as shoes and hats, As the accused wanted, so as not to order them to close the shop or fine them.

After investigations, the accusation of impersonating a public official was proven against the accused, by proving it with video clips of the cameras in the shops whose owners had submitted the complaint, and the case was referred to the court for consideration and judgment.

While the accused denied impersonating a public employee, saying: "I felt that the goods were counterfeit and not original, during my visit to the store, which prompted me to threaten them to inform the responsible authorities for their violation or to close their stores, but they took the initiative to give me some of their goods for free so that I would not complain against them."

The victims, who are the owners of three shops in the city of Khorfakkan, confirmed that they were deceived by the accused, by impersonating him as a "municipal inspector", noting that he took out his business card as evidence for them that he works in this job, which made them believe him.

They pointed out that the accused asked them to give him some of their goods, in exchange for not issuing a violation against them, which may cause the closure of their stores, or the payment of large financial fines that they will not be able to pay, on the pretext that their goods are not original, and they are counterfeit, stressing that their goods were inspected by Before the official municipality employees, and they have not been fined or violated, it is original, and it meets all the conditions set by the municipality.

The Court of First Instance sentenced the accused to three years in prison, and he appealed the sentence, and the Court of Appeal reduced him to one year in prison.
