Who to take over between the Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics?

In music, it will be the electro champion Woodkid, with a piece created for the occasion and a concert on August 8 at the Trocadéro.

August 8 will mark the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, France officially becoming the next host country of the Summer Olympic Games on that day, in 2024.

For the soundtrack of this handover, it is Woodkid who works, supported by two musical groups from Radio France, the Orchester National de France and the Maîtrise de Radio France.

To mark the event, the gifted Frenchman will also give a free concert in Paris, on August 8, at the Live Games at the Trocadéro gardens (fan zone, not far from the Eiffel Tower, dedicated to the Olympic Games this summer).

"It is with honor and emotion that I accepted the invitation to build the first artistic speech for the Paris 2024 Games", comments the artist in a press release.

Woodkid has been nominated three times for the Grammy Awards and has collaborated with stars like Lana del Rey, Katy Perry and Drake.

He will notably be present at the Vieilles Charrues festival on Saturday before resuming a national and international tour.

His special title OJ (produced by Universal Music France / Virgin Records) will be available on platforms from August 6.
