The woman suspected of assaulting the Lorient footballer Yoane Wissa as well as a young mother whose newborn she had removed was indicted and placed in detention, the Lorient prosecutor's office announced on Thursday.

The mis en cause, aged a little over 30 years, admitted having burned with a corrosive product the attacker of the Hake during the night of July 1 to 2.

She also admitted to later assaulting a woman and abducting her newborn baby posing as a social worker.

She was indicted on charges of "attempted murder, kidnapping and attempted kidnapping of a person under the age of 15, home invasion and violence with a weapon," said the prosecution.

Spotted after her second assault by witnesses who had rescued the mother, she was found on July 3 by the police with the newborn baby, specifies the vice-prosecutor of Lorient.

She abducts a newborn baby after her miscarriage

She explained “having suffered a miscarriage which she then concealed from those around her”.

"Cornered by her lies and various stratagems she had found no other solution than to abduct a newborn child who could physically correspond to that which was expected," the statement continued.

The police reconciled the two facts because she "responded to the report of the woman who attacked Yoane Wissa, who was also the father of a little girl of a few weeks", a child whom she denies having attempted to abduct.
