The accident resulted in 6 deaths and 4 people were successfully raised to the well.

The reporter learned from the reply that 27 people including the Secretary of the CPC Zhaoyuan Municipal Committee and the former mayor of the Zhaoyuan Municipal People’s Government were held accountable.

  At 6 o'clock on February 17, 2021, a fire broke out during equipment maintenance at Caojiawa Gold Mine, Xiadian Town, Zhaoyuan City, Yantai City, Shandong Province.

As of 17:00 on February 17, the underground search and rescue work was over.

The People's Government of Shandong Province agreed with the accident investigation team to analyze the cause of the accident and determine the responsibility.

The "2·17" fire accident at the Caojiawa Gold Mine in Yantai Zhaoyuan was a major production safety liability accident caused by a company's illegal and hot operations.

  For 10 CCP members or public officials, including Wang Jingzhi, the legal representative of the Caojiawa Gold Mine in Zhaoyuan City, and Li Jingui, the director of the Caojiawa Gold Mine in Zhaoyuan City, have been taken relevant measures by the public security organs, the local government recommends relevant disciplinary inspection and supervision agencies Strengthen communication and coordination with judicial organs, and promptly deal with them when the conditions for party discipline or government sanctions are met.
