Xue Yingxuan, who pursued her movie dream in Wuhan:

"Two shores are one family" (Taiwan Chase Dream Mainland (13))

Red barley is a specialty of Xue Yingxuan's hometown of Pingtung, Taiwan, and it is also the "seed" he planted on the mainland.

"I hope this seed grows stronger on the mainland of the motherland." He founded a cultural media company called "Red Barley" in Wuhan, earnestly pursuing his film dream.

Before going to the mainland to start a business, Xue Yingxuan was an animator.

He used to be the teacher of the well-known manga "Wolongyuan" author and Taiwanese manga artist Ao Youxiang, and converted his manga into animation works.

"The mainland has developed so well, with a wide audience and many opportunities, why would I not come?" Xue Yinghu moved her heart.

Before deciding on the transformation, Xue Yingxu carefully analyzed that this is a work that requires teamwork. He must have strong skills, and he must be able to make friends and maintain a strong tolerance.

"It just so happens that my personality is like this." Xue Yinghu packed up and came to the mainland alone in 2016.

In the beginning, Xue Yinghu chose Dongguan, Guangdong, where Taiwanese businessmen are concentrated, and spent about a year in the local entrepreneurial incubator. While groping in the field of cultural communication, he also accumulated power for creation.

When invited to participate in the "Hubei·Wuhan Taiwan Week", Xue Yingxuan fell in love with Wuhan at first sight.

Xue Yingxun admitted frankly that compared to coastal provinces such as Fujian and first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Wuhan is located in the middle of China, and many Taiwanese are still relatively new to it. This may not be the first place that Taiwanese youths who come to the mainland would choose to start a business.

However, Xue Yingxun was deeply attracted by the Jingchu culture and also took a fancy to Wuhan's development space, so he partnered with a friend in Wuhan to open a "Red Barley" company.

The company usually undertakes advertising, short film shooting and other businesses, but Xue Yinghu always has a bigger dream.

At the beginning of 2020, just as the company's development was thriving, the sudden new crown pneumonia epidemic stopped work.

The local Taiwan Affairs Office has repeatedly organized Taiwanese compatriots to leave by chartered flights. Xue Yingxuan has expressed that he wants to leave opportunities to those who need it more, and he wants to "join Wuhan to advance and retreat."

"At that time I was living at home and had nowhere to go, so I took ukulele and made a few songs to encourage everyone." Xue Yingxu composed heart-warming anti-epidemic songs for Wuhan, and also collected extensive materials to record medical staff and volunteers. The filmmakers, truck drivers, etc. stick to the front line and produced a documentary short film "76 Days of the Director of Taiwan, China in Wuhan". After it was launched on various platforms on both sides of the strait, it received millions of views.

After experiencing the epidemic, Xue Yingxuan felt that she had become a native of Wuhan.

He recalled: “One time when I went to buy hot dried noodles, some citizens felt that my accent was different. I said that I am a Taiwanese and I have lived in Wuhan since the outbreak. He patted me on the shoulder and said,'All brothers. '."

With the resumption of production and work gradually unfolding, the big online movie "Azalea in the Dream" that Xue Yingxuan was thinking of was finally reopened.

"The company partner wrote the original version of the script. The love story in Wuhan in the 1980s is a bit like the TV series "Parents' Love". The time and space in the film travels through time and time, and it is also like the movie "Hello, Li Huanying". I joined when rewriting the script. With Taiwanese elements, it has the feeling of a Taiwanese idol drama."

What makes Xue Yingxuan proud of is that in the filming team, except for himself, a Taiwanese, more than 50 people are from Wuhan.

The film was shot on the spot in Hubei, incorporating elements of "Chinese flavor" such as the azalea sceneries in Yingshan County, the red houses in the 1980s, the old streets of Wuhan, and industrial factories.

"Movies can also reflect cross-strait integration and cultural exchanges. In this way, I want to tell the world that the two sides of the strait are one family."

Xue Yingxun recently held a "pop-up" event "Taiwan compatriots gather in Wuhan, and welcome you with white clouds and yellow cranes" in front of the Red Mansion in Wuhan.

More than 60 Taiwan compatriots in Han and Wuhan citizens sang "Friends" together, and more than 20 Taiwan compatriots who started their businesses in mainland cities such as Beijing, Xiamen, Shenyang and other mainland cities sang on the cloud side.

In addition to sharing stories in Wuhan and singing the friendship between the two sides of the strait, Xue Yingxu also hopes to establish a film and television incubation base in Wuhan, so that more young people from both sides of the strait can devote themselves to exchanges and cooperation.

The business format of "Red Barley" is now becoming more diversified, with live broadcasts and e-commerce platforms being promoted.

The seeds from Treasure Island are growing infinite possibilities on the mainland.
