“The Dubai Civil Defense Forces are fighting the fire that erupted after the explosion of one of the containers on the ship in the port of Jebel Ali,” the official statement said.
To extinguish the fire on a merchant ship, rescuers used a boat.
The port continues to operate normally.
The reasons for the incident have not yet been established.
Earlier it was reported that the explosion occurred on board an oil tanker.
