Valérie Pécresse (ex-LR), Laurent Wauquiez (LR) and Bruno Retailleau (LR), all three potential presidential candidates, as well as the boss of the centrists Hervé Morin, signed on Monday a joint forum to call for the organization “from as possible ”a primary in order to designate the candidate of the right and the center.
"The providential man or woman that some hoped for did not impose himself," say these elected officials, in a veiled allusion to the former LR Xavier Bertrand who is today the best placed in the polls, without however crush the match.
The “vote” designating the candidate will have to be “popular, as large as possible, open to all supporters of the right and the center,” he added in this forum in Figaro published on the eve of an LR political office.
