Last minute barbecue on a Sunday evening and nothing in the fridge?

A Toulouse butcher found the solution to meet this kind of demand.

Oussama Saaidia, boss of the Borderouge butcher's shop, has just installed a refrigerated meat vending machine next to his store, available 24/7.

In these 48 lockers, customers can find chops, sausages and other prime rib and select the product they want before paying by credit card.

It is even possible to reserve your locker in click & collect mode.

“The idea came to me during confinement, I couldn't accommodate everyone inside and the line was stretched out in front of the store.

As I am impatient, I found myself in them and I wondered what solution we could bring ”, explains this craftsman.

To find something suitable, he searched the internet and came across the self-service refrigerated lockers used by farmers to sell their produce.

After contacting the manufacturer, he took delivery of his distributor and opened it to customers this weekend.

Replenished daily

The 48 lockers are restocked every day.

“At the time of the Covid, it can be reassuring for some customers.

But I am not trying to replace the traditional butcher shop and customer contact either, it is completely ", assures the young boss who employs twelve people in his establishment in the rue Ernest-Renan.
