The firefighters of Bas-Rhin intervened in force for a fire which occurred on a farm about twenty kilometers north-west of Strasbourg.
More precisely in the small town of Wingersheim-les-Quatre-Bans.
The fire broke out on Sunday shortly before 5 p.m., indicates in a report the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Bas-Rhin (SDIS 67).
The fire ravaged the farm, a large metal shed housing more than 40,000 poultry.
Two-thirds of the building went up in flames and all the poultry perished in the fire.
The origin of the fire is not yet known, an investigation is being carried out by the gendarmes.
