"I am a candidate for the primary of the environmentalists" for the presidential elections of 2022, declared Delphine Batho this Monday morning on BFMTV.

"Protecting the French from global warming from the effects, from the impacts linked to the destruction of nature is now a matter of national security from which all the consequences must be drawn", explained the former Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy under François Hollande.

The current deputy for Deux-Sèvres and president of Génération écologie intends to "prepare environmentalists for the exercise of responsibilities to convince French people to try the happiness of ecology".

The green primary will take place in September 2021 to nominate the candidate for the Ecologist Pole.

The arrival of Delphine Batho brings to five the number of candidates with: Jean-Marc Governatori (Cap ecology), Yannick Jadot (EELV), Eric Piolle (EELV) and Sandrine Rousseau (EELV).
