On Europe 1, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan defended his candidacy already declared for the presidential election of 2022. And he claims to want to weigh in the ballot and prevent the repetition of the duel between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.

Of the latter, which he had rallied between the two rounds in 2017, he said that she "is not a candidate for repetition of divine right".

After his applications for 2012 and 2017, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan has already embarked on the campaign for 2022. And he assures that he can be the one who will disrupt the duel announced between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.

Because if he had allied himself with the president of the RN for the second round in 2017, the boss of Debout France has since distanced himself.

"We saw that she was not able to win," he says.

Returning to his controversial decision to rally Marine Le Pen between the two rounds, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan assumes: "In the second round, the French had a choice to make between Macron and Le Pen. Me, I dared to do it, because I didn't want Macron ... And we saw the result ".

But, he adds, "I never said I was married to Marine Le Pen".

"I can be the surprise of this election"

And today, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan says he wants to avoid the repetition of the duel of 2017, and particularly covets the voters of Marine Le Pen.

The president of the RN "is not a repeated candidate of divine right", he criticizes.

"I am speaking to the French on the right and on the left, because I am a Gaullist ... I believe that the country can be straightened out, but on condition that the French rise up. their vote must count ", continues the guest from Europe 1.

"I want to return power to the French, it is the cause of my presidential campaign", concludes Nicolas Dupont-Aignan.

"I am convinced that I can be the surprise of this election".
