04 July 2021The unauthorized rave in progress since last night in Tavolaia, a hamlet of the municipality of Santa Maria a Monte, in the Pisano area, could last another 24 hours.

According to the latest estimates by the Police Headquarters, about 6,000 young people are taking part in the Cerbaie wood, a large area that touches both the provinces of Pisa and those of Lucca and Florence.

Hundreds of cars, campers, vans, trucks arrived in the afternoon of Saturday 3 July, recalled by the tam tam on social media, immediately triggering the alarm of the residents for the massive arrival of young people and for the loud music that has begun to feel at the first light of the evening.

Immediate intervention by the police, the police and the Carabinieri, who brought the whole area under control. The fire brigade and 118 health workers are also present on site.

The clandestine party, promoted on private land where a ruin stands and at a distance from the few scattered houses, assures the Police, "has created just a little chaos for now to traffic last night with the arrival of hundreds of cars and numerous campers that have parked along the access roads to the area where the rave takes place ". The mayor of the municipality of Santa Maria a Monte, Ilaria Parrella, immediately came into contact with the Police Headquarters and the Prefecture of Pisa to monitor the territory and the situation.

On the social networks the Police, which coordinates a public order service with three check points to prohibit further access and identify the participants at the exit, found some posts in French advertising the event and numerous vehicles with license plates arrived at the rave French and German but also of other nationalities besides the Italian participants. Apparently no anti Covid measures would be respected.

It is, within a few days, the second major illegal rave in Italy. The previous clandestine party, with great participation of young people, took place in the Lodi area. The illegal raves have aroused the anger of the managers of the discos from Romagna to Salento who say: "Let us reopen, the clubs are safe".
