the announced withdrawal of the Barkhane force

and to set the date of the next summit. of the G5 Sahel.

The support that France will bring to the African forces will also be on the menu of discussions.

Mahamat Idriss Déby reassured in an interview a few weeks ago about Chad's commitments to its partners in the Sahel.

Chadian troops deployed in Mali and in the three border area will continue their mission, he said.

Beyond security issues, domestic politics could be part of the discussions between the head of the junta and the French president.
