Yesterday, Saturday, the Turkish Public Prosecution Office in Istanbul announced the arrest of the so-called "Mehmet Aydin" in Brazil, on the grounds of his involvement in fraud cases.

A statement issued by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office stated that Aydin, the defendant in the "Civtlik Bank" (Farm Bank) case, was arrested in order to complete the judicial procedures within the scope of the lawsuits against him.

The statement indicated that the Brazilian authorities arrested Aydin, against whom an arrest warrant was issued by Ankara.

He added that Turkey had officially received the request as of today, in preparation for the start of the investigation process and taking statements, in addition to other judicial procedures.

The Turkish authorities transferred Aydin from the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo via a Turkish Airlines plane, and he arrived at Istanbul Airport at 22:10 pm yesterday, Saturday, local time.

Aydin underwent medical examinations, before being transferred to the Security Directorate division at the airport, amid strict security measures, in preparation for his transfer to the Istanbul Security Directorate.

On May 31, 2018, Ankara submitted a request to Interpol to search for and extradite Aydin, and circulate it on the "red notice" in all member states.

The purpose of the "Red Notice" is to search for the location of a person wanted by a legal body or an international court and to arrest him in preparation for his extradition.

Aiden managed to persuade tens of thousands of people to invest in his farm, which he called "The Farm Bank", promising them fantastic profits.

After that, Aydin fled Turkey with $180 million, from the bank's clients' money.
