Like Prime Minister Suga, he was elected for the first time in the 1996 House of Representatives election, served as Deputy Minister of the Cabinet Office and head of the party's organizational movement headquarters, and became chairman of the election measures committee with the inauguration of the Suga administration in September last year. did.
