The indictment for "murder" of two railway security officers who shot dead a man armed with a knife in Val-d'Oise on Wednesday is "normal", believe two railway unions, who hope that their judicial control “Light” prejudges a future “non-lieu”.

The facts are of rare gravity and the charge heavier than that required by the prosecution, but "it is the normal procedure", declared the secretary general of the CGT -Cheminots, Laurent Brun.

On Wednesday afternoon, two agents from the Suge - the rail police - shot several times a 36-year-old man, armed with a knife, who was threatening a group of children in Ermont-Eaubonne.

A scene filmed by a passer-by and broadcast immediately on social networks.

Towards a non-place?

Friday evening, an examining magistrate decided to indict them for "murder", while the prosecution had requested that the facts be qualified as "willful violence resulting in death without intention of giving it".

"We would have preferred this charge, but it is relatively normal from the point of view of the law", recognizes Frédéric Fournier, of Unsa-Ferroviaire.

The unions note above all that the two Suge agents were left free under judicial supervision.

"A lightened judicial measure" in view of the facts, underlines Frédéric Fournier, who detects "a benevolent look in relation to the prosecutions".

"It indicates that the judge is moving towards the confirmation of self-defense", according to Laurent Brun, predicting that "the comrades should benefit from a dismissal at the end".
