Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated today, Saturday, the "3 July Naval Base" in the Jarjoub region on the northwest coast of Egypt, with the participation of the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Minfi, and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed.

Egyptian media celebrated the inauguration of the base, while several channels broadcast the opening incidents directly on their screens, describing the base as the latest of its kind in the country, as it will work to secure shipping lines, and it includes combat groups and ground units, as well as submarines and the air force.

According to the official TV in Egypt, the area of ​​the new naval base is 10 million square meters, and it is located in the Jarjoub area on the Mediterranean in Matrouh Governorate, far north-west of Egypt, adjacent to the border with Libya.

The Egyptian Ministry of Defense said that the base represents staging centers for logistical support for the armed forces in the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain, as well as its role in combating smuggling and irregular migration.

Sisi also witnessed at the "July 3 Naval Base" that the Egyptian army conducted military exercises with live ammunition, in the presence of a large number of officials and military leaders.

The "Qadir - 2021" maneuvers included military exercises with the participation of multiple pieces of the Navy, warplanes and helicopters from the Air Force.
