The fact that the sport has now received its first national championship is a step closer to gaining SM status, says Jari Forsman, sports director at Eskilstuna Athletics, who arranged the championship.
250 participants had registered for the championship.
The association has had OCR activities since 2016 and has worked actively to raise the status of the sport in Sweden.
