It was just before midsummer that local councilor Tobias Smedberg (V) launched a fierce attack on the center-right government that he believed had been avenged for V's influence on the government crisis.

According to Smedberg, V had come a long way in the budget work for 2022, but all of a sudden everything that was agreed upon was withdrawn.

Erik Pelling (S) then did not want to go so far and call it an "act of revenge", but admitted that the Left Party's actions at the national level did not benefit relations at the local level.

"The doors open again"

The tones were completely different on the roof terrace on Stationsgatan on Friday.

Smedberg and Pelling caught up in the sun and chatted about holiday plans.

Then they presented ten joint ventures totaling SEK 70 million.

- The doors are open again, and the center-right wants to ensure support from the Left Party.

Constructive conversations have taken place, says Erik Pelling.

- I am happy with the points we have agreed on, especially that we avoid efficiency requirements for elderly care.

This autumn, the municipality's budget for next year will be hammered out and it is a total of SEK 17 billion.

Erik Pelling (S) expressed at the press conference that the joint initiatives lay the foundation for V's support when the budget is to be hammered out in the municipal council.

Tobias Smedberg, is it now free for the center-right government to club any budget?

- No, we do not see it.
