The Police have carried out a series of actions against the alleged perpetrators of the threats against the magistrate of the National High Court,

Manuel García Castellón

.

As this newspaper has learned, the agents have identified two of the alleged perpetrators, one located in Cádiz and the other, a Moroccan living in France, who launched threats against the judge.

The proceedings are still open.

The agents of the General Information Commissary already finalize a first report for the Court of Instruction number 50 of Madrid that instructs the complaint for threats on social networks, some of them, of death.

The threatened magistrate denounced the messages last October to the General Information Commissariat itself and to the Judiciary.

These threats came after the instructor of the National Court asked the Supreme Court to impute the then vice president of the Government and leader of Podemos, Pablo Iglesias, for the

Dina case

.

The court investigates these events, which could constitute crimes of insults and threats to public officials.

The court's action was also supported by a complaint from the Madrid Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation

On October 8, the Police began to investigate the publication on social networks of threatening messages against the judge after he had asked the day before to investigate Iglesias for three crimes: discovery or disclosure of secrets aggravated by gender, computer damage and False complaint, in relation to the theft of the cell phone of his former advisor Dina Bousselham.

According to the complaint, the messages on social networks included death threats.

The previous month it was the judge himself who offered protection to the former lawyer of Podemos

José Manuel Calvente

after stating that he had suffered such threats for his complaints against the party, of which he found guilty what he described as "the guerrilla" of Podemos. .

When the investigation of the Police for the threats to the magistrate became known, the PP held Podemos responsible for it, while Iglesias assured that "several analysts" of social networks had "demonstrated" that the threats to the judge come from accounts "linked to the extreme right and Vox ".

According to police sources, the investigators are encountering many difficulties when advancing in the investigations, since the collaboration of the companies used to launch the threatening messages is not being optimal.

Relationship with Podemos

At the end of this edition, the Police have not been able to determine links between the two identified with any organization or political party.

The suspicion that the men were directly or indirectly related to Podemos has not been proven by the police.

The investigation has been assumed by the unit that tracks crimes on social networks, located in the General Information Police Station, since it was to this police station that the judge was referred to inform him of what he understands is a campaign to discredit the point to Pablo Iglesias.

The judge also sent a letter to the General Council of the Judiciary (

CGPJ

) to indicate that the messages are repeated and amplified by many leaders, "including some members of the Government of the nation."

García Castellón denounced that these leaders "point directly to this magistrate and knowing the repercussion that his words may have, they place him in a situation of absolute defenselessness and personal discredit."
