Russia protested to PACE over Ukrainian law on indigenous peoples

The head of the delegation, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“Russia has already declared a protest in PACE in connection with the actions of Kiev,” he said.

He noted that the Russian initiative to condemn Kiev's actions was supported by deputies from Serbia, Armenia, Hungary, and Moldova.

“I am sure that the number of people dissatisfied with the actions of Kiev will increase: people still remember what segregation leads to,” Tolstoy said.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law "On the indigenous peoples of Ukraine."

The law establishes that the indigenous peoples of Ukraine are Crimean Tatars, Karaites, Krymchaks. The definition notes that Russians are not the indigenous people of Ukraine.
